A range of communications systems are available including SMMC 69 and rally 81 to link in with organisers and our Rescue Unit and Recovery units.
This unit is located in the East Midlands area and will happily cover all of mainland UK plus the islands of Anglesey, Man and Mull. For details of units on the Rescue Services inventory please send a message via our contact page or ring us and we'll deal with your enquiry as quickly as we can.
Is based on a Renault Master LWB 3.9 tonne – 2.8 litre diesel engined chassis with a UVG ambulance body.
EMU derives its name from the acronym Event Medical Unit and its equipment is based on the criteria set out by the National Association of Private Ambulance Services (NAPAS) for a class 2 ambulance with equipment commonality with the Rescue Unit and SSU standards.
EMU attends all types of motor sport events nationwide ranging from Sprints (useful for satisfying section S5.2.1); through to all manner of club to national championships plus National Autograss Sport Association (NASA) Autograss meetings up and down the UK providing essential medical cover. Usually crewed by 2 persons (3 for NASA events), all trained in the use of pre-hospital medical gases of Oxygen and Entonox plus the use of an AED, and can carry an MSA / HCPC registered Paramedic if required.
EMU also carries a comprehensive range of medical equipment similar to that of front line ambulances, tuned for the motor sport environment.
EMU is similarly designed to integrate with the other member of the associated Rescue Services group which is very handy for organisers looking for a cohesive safety package.
While EMU has been set up as an Event Medical Unit it must not be forgotten that the unit is not a business and that those involved are volunteers undertaking a sport they enjoy.
